The Taisteal RACE
Where our Common Principles are not just words, they are what define our
company, how our business operates and how we work to be Resourceful for our clients. Every client is a valued member of the Adventure. A safe and fun place to work, filled with laughter and Energy, where we all pull in a common direction, with healthy challenge, to drive continuous improvement for our clients and our Taisteal.
In the distant past, having lived in the same house, on the same street, in the same
neighbourhood for 23 years, I was ready for adventure. I packed my small car full of
what seemed like my whole life and relocated to ‘the big smoke’ to start my career as a
Naval Architect for one of the world’s leading oil majors. The move from Glasgow to
London seemed like a massive leap in life: a new adventure, a new chapter and the
start of what I hoped was an exciting career. At that point in time, I didn’t really
understand or know what an exciting career looked like, but on reflection today, it has
been filled with excitement, adventure and energy, every step of the way!
I managed to stay in London for about 4 months after my ‘big move’ from Glasgow
before I was relocated to South Korea … and I’ve barely stopped since. From offshore
projects in Asia and the Middle East. To asset operations in Europe and Canada. Onto
business development, client engagement and business strategy in North America and
Europe. I have been extremely fortunate to be involved in many fascinating projects,
many complex operations and work for a number of industry leading companies that
trusted me, allowed my interpersonal skills to flourish and equipped me with the tools
and experience I have today.
The word ‘Taisteal’ is the Gaelic for Travel or Journey. I speak only but a smattering of
Gaelic badly, but I believe coming from Scotland, the Gaelic language is our roots.
While my career has been an adventurous journey full of learnings, travel and growth,
we can always be tracked back to our roots.
And so, Taisteal Ltd was founded in 2023, partnering with likeminded people, to deliver
a range of services to Clients based on our collective extensive international
experience. The company name, no matter the location of our services, to tie the
founder back to his Scottish roots.
